X-Files Expo
I know everyone's Expo experience is different, but I thought you'd like to hear about mine.
Expo Day 1
Well, it did not start on the right foot. The group we were suppose to meet up with did not show up and when we got to the convention at 10 am, the line to get in was disgusting. We got in fine, it was cool! We got our picture with the Intrigue and bought stuff we didn't have. Then I noticed they were starting a trivia contest. I didn't get in the first group, but I did get in the second. Well, I was almost disqualified over what Clyde Bruckman said to Mulder about finding the next victim by the fat, little white Nazi stormtrooper. The sheet the emcee had said short, Nazi stormtrooper. He threw it out. Anyway, I tied with a girl named Barbie (looked like it too) and we got to stay and aid with the auction. I was given the Clyde Bruckman script (where I found my line) and I read the quote, vindicating myself. I also got to model the X-Files Expo jacket in which I was burning up in.
We sat and screamed through the Nick Lea's talk. His Freudian slip was showing -- he was talking about being screwed by Marita. He also finally explained the kiss from Red and Black as being a sign of luck and at the same time F*** you. Well the chair he sat in got auctioned off. Dean Haglund's show was worth the 25 bucks to get in. Hilarious. But the crowning achivement was Mitch. He looked so good (but so did Nick and Dean). And the woman next to me and I were pleading with his to remove his cap, which he did and the shiny skull was bared. The best was the question someone asked about Mitch acting in his undies. Well, he wasted no time in providing an example. (No, he didn't but he was about to.)
It was well after 6:30 before we were able to get in line for autographs. They had a game called Stump the Panel. Well, the group we FINALLY met up with were trying to answer these REALLY tough questions. Behind us was the autograph trailer and Mitch & Nick were signing away. Erin and I fought our self-control, giving in to calling out Nick's name. He looked up and waved. We did the same to Mitch and got him to wave. When we DID get in line it took 5 to 10 minutes. OH, was I so happy to meet them! Nick was a doll. I got him to sign the cap I won in the trivia competition and give me a kiss. On my left cheek :-). Mitch and Dean also signed my hat, which completely rocked. The highlights of my day!
Expo Day 2
After burning the back of my neck to a rich deep RED, we were group abducted by the Intrigue. Then we went to get our seats. They were great. 2nd row, on the aisle. Well, Mitch didn't wear the hat today (Thank God). Some igit asked if he was every going to use Rogaine (never!). I shouted to Mitch that it was gorgeous and he called me Sweet Thing. Then he yelled at me for saying Blevins was dead. He was talking about the levels in the FBI and said Blevins was over him. I reminded him that Blevins was dead. He was looking right at me and said when he was alive, Blevins was. :-) I liked the 'Mulder' who asked if he was in the alps with the other cast members, who would he eat first. I wanted to say Gillian, but he just blushed and countered with the Spice girl comment (Every time someone asked a stupid question, he would counter it with 'If you were a Spice girl what would you be called). Steven Williams was great. Fun watching him pretend to get shot (which startled me) and then spell out D-A-M-N on the stage. Hilarious.
Watched Dean again. Great!
Paul Rabwin showed some behind the scenes stuff and then a hungover Nick came out. Not at enthusiastic as yesterday, but still. It was fun while they were showing clips of Krycek, Nick was behind the projector screen so he was just this grayish figure and pretended to pick Krycek's nose. Then he punched out Marita during *that* scene.
Anyway, We moped around, took in the movie trailer, and came back in. Well the line was ridiculously long. We stood in front of the booth and I shouted hi to Dean. He said hi back and asked how I was doing. We managed to get in line with a short wait and I got to see Nick again. He asked me which day I liked better and before I answered I asked him for a hug. Well I snuck a kiss on his right cheek (Like in Red & Black) on the way back. I can still taste him on my lips. Yummy! Said another hi to Dean. And shook hands with Rabwin. Then I got back in line again and got my 3rd item signed by Nick. I think I scared him.
On our way out to the car I saw JJ (one of the Emcees and my new best friend) and he asked if I got backstage (I could have gone backstage!!). I said no but I did give him my e-mail address. And thus ended my Expo experience. Now I have no voice and in need of sleep.
