They
were back from the hearing at the courthouse. Dana Scully was fuming. First her
brother had ranted over and over : “ That SOB ,Mulder, has no right to be in
my home”. Then she had discovered that Mulder hasn’t been honest with her.
Her ova – all her ova- had been harvested during her abduction and she was
barren because of the fucking people who had stolen three months of her life.
She had thought that it was because of radiotherapy. What a fool she had been?
She helped her Mom with
“What the hell is your problem Bill?!” She shouted.
“What’s my problem? You’re asking me that when you bring that prick in
to my home?” He roared.
“That prick as you call him is my best friend and he has always been there
for me. You can’t say the same! Where were you when I was comatose after my
abduction? Where were you when I was diagnosed with my cancer? You just
appeared, the dutiful brother, to see me on my death bed. I didn’t die Bill! I
didn’t die because Mulder risked his life to find a cure! He risked everything
for me!”
“A cure! It’s science fiction Dana! You were Cartesian before him. Now
you are just his parrot. He stole your personality! What did he do? Did he
hypnotize you? Or worst of all, are you sleeping with him?”
“You are so wrong! You are not my father! You have no right to judge me! As
for sleeping with Mulder, that’s none of your business, Bill! All I need is a
supportive and understanding brother but you can’t be that! I’ve already
lost a sister and now I am losing my brother too”.
She left the room and a gaping Bill. Her speech had touched a nerve and she was
feeling a little better. It was time to face another challenge: Special Agent
Fox Mulder.
She went downstairs. He was sitting on the couch staring at the Christmas tree.
He was brooding and her heart took precedence over her wrath. He had meant to
protect her and she could accept it from him because it was done without malice.
It was also a difficult task to be angry with him. Their relationship was back
on track and she wasn’t ready to face a new rift with him. So she let it go,
for now hoping to address the issue someday.
